Million Mums Goes Live!
Waracle are proud to announce the launch of the new Million Mums website! Million Mums is an exciting new initiative to bring people together to end the needless deaths of women in childbirth all over the world. This is why they need your help:
- Every minute of every day, somewhere in the world, a woman dies due to pregnancy and birth related complications
- In Africa and Asia, pregnancy and childbirth are the number one causes of death amongst women of childbearing age, killing more than half a million women each year
- These deaths leave approximately 2 million children a year motherless. Without their mothers these children are 5-8 times more likely to die before they get to their first birthday.
- Over 80% of these deaths are easily preventable – women are dying needlessly, not for lack of a cure, but because they can’t get healthcare.
